Sacred Heart of Mary accepts our parish responsibility for providing religious education for all of our children.  The Religious Education Ministry recognizes the parent as the Primary Educator of the children and seeks to assist the parents with religious education as mandated by the Church.

Sunday Pre-school

An Option for Families

What is Sunday Pre-school?
A Catholic Religious Education program for 3 year olds through Kindergarten.  We explore the Sunday liturgy and Catholic themes through fun, age appropriate activities including music, prayer, movement, crafts, puppets, storytime and games.  

Is it Childcare?
No!  It is an education program where we will reinforce your family’s Catholic teaching to your youngest family member.  We respect the decision of families to keep their young children with them during Mass.  Sunday Pre-school is an Option provided during the 9 and 11 o’clock Mass.

Do I have to register?
Yes!  This is not a drop in program.  We have to order curriculum and solicit for teachers based on numbers of children.  We ask that you select the Mass time that you will most often participate and then adhere to that.  We have some flexibility for occasional switching due to family schedules.

Dates
We will begin Sunday pre-school on Sept. 19th.  We will meet 23 Sundays during the traditional school year with some Sundays off due to holidays.  We invite all pre-school families to join us for the Religious Education Kick-Off potluck on Tuesday, Aug. 31st at the church and to the Speaker series the week of Sept. 13th.  These are not required for Sunday Pre-School but we would love to see you there!!!
